My Parklife Wrap-Up

I've always been strictly anti-gumboots, like, I think they're awesome if you're Paddington Bear but I generally don't like them at a festival but with the amount of rain that hit Sydney on Saturday and parts of Sunday. I took the plunge and bought some steel caps from Bunnings..

Dressed like some sort of gumbooted cowboy I was now ready to hit the mud and I'll be honest, they were surprisingly comfortable.

I made it just in time for Gypsy & The Cat who were, surprise surprise, amazing (this album is going to blow you away) and because Xav and Lionel are super nice guys, they let me have some of their beers as they had to leave early... bazinga!

Juggers were also amazing, Darwin Deez was also pretty good but then it was time for business...

The biggest standouts, by far, were Kele and The Wombats. The entire crowd went nuts and could sing every word until at the end of the sets, some wanker was throwing elbows at these two female coppers and he roughed them up a bit but they ended up getting him and dropped the knee in his back a few times, job well done if you ask me.

The biggest disappointment for me had to be Missy Elliot... not only has she stacked on a stack of weight, not a bad thing, just an observation but she seemed just to play samples of songs and it was just really weird... I didn't get it.

To be honest though, I'm not sure why Parklife didn't sell out. It's a really good festival, the drink lines were really good, the staff were all nice and the people, with the exception of daisy dukes and Raben wearers were all good too.

Be sure to check out the pics, they're pretty sweet.
