Splendour in the Grass Lineup

So this time tomorrow the 2011 Splendour in the Grass lineup will have been announced.
This is quite exciting.
OK IT'S SUPER VERY VERY EXCITING.

It's pretty much all we talk (fight) about in the office here at Radar, so please enjoy our theories on who we think will be on tomorrow's big bad list. EEeeeep!

Reegan had a crack back in March, but here is our updated list of predictions based on hot tips and sleuthing...

SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2011 LINEUP (We reckon)

GOMEZ - blew their cover with Faster Louder and just out-and-out said that they're on the lineup. So that's that.

THE VACCINES - told RipItUp mag that they would be playing Splendour in the Grass during the AU/Japan tour.

THE KILLS - Alison Mosshart let slip to Pedestrian earlier this year (what's with all these bands who don't understand a secret? Good for us though).

KANYE WEST - We can't tell you how we know. But we know. And if the reason we know, turns out to be a liar, we're going to punch the reason we know in the face, because this has us really excited.

CORNERSHOP - hinted on twitter that they'd be heading down with their brim full of asha (WHATEVER THAT IS? Has anyone ever found out?)

FRIENDLY FIRES - Told inthemix earlier this year that they would be 'back soon for a festival that they've played before"

JAMES BLAKE - Golden child of the 'it' world and all that PLUS there is a convenient gap in his tour schedule between US and UK tours...

ELBOW - The TV commercial for the new album revealed that they'll be here in July

PULP - Jarvis Cocker's iconic band have reformed for a few UK festivals, word is the magic will stretch to our shores.

NOAH AND THE WHALE
- told Street Press Australia that they were heading to Australia and then went all weird an avoid-y when asked directly about Splendour.

JANELLE MONAE - we said it back in March, she owes us for Good Vibes! Also she's said on the twitter that they're rescheduling AU tour dates.

MOBY - His name is floating around on the rumour mill plus he's got a new album out in the middle of the year.

ARCTIC MONKEYS -
They have a new album plus they're playing Fuji Rock in Japan around the same time.

COLDPLAY -
All the forums are talking about it plus they're also playing Fuji Rock

In fact given that Fuji Rock is on around the same time and it's less than a day's worth of travel away, i'm going to go ahead and say that all of the following from the Fuji Rock lineup are hot contenders:
BEST COAST, CAKE, G LOVE & SPECIAL SAUCE, CSS, NAKED AND FAMOUS, WARPAINT & WILCO

RISE AGAINST - the Chicago punks are in the country with their last official show on July 23, a week before Splendour kicks off...how convenient.

GLASVEGAS -
They let slip in Adelaide that they're coming.

JEBEDIAH
- Because they're back with a new album,  have a place in the heart of any festival goer born before the '90s, and are touring all throughout July.

THE MIDDLE EAST - They're touring up til the end of June with their new album I Want That You Are Always Happy, so they're in the country and one of the hottest Australian acts at the moment. Interesting.

ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI - Their international tour conveniently ends in June.

MIAMI HORROR - touring throughout July, AND when we saw them recently at the Beach Road Hotel they had a sweet inflatable stage set-up =  heaps of fun = attractive to any festival organiser.

WASHINGTON, PAPA VS PRETTY, TIM & JEAN, ART VS SCIENCE, SPARKADIA and OH MERCY are pretty obvious no-brainer likely locals.
