ARIA Winners announced

ARIA 2010 Nominees Announced

The 2010 ARIA Award Nominations were announced today in a flurry of industry, photographers, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and lots of back-patting.

There is fantastic crop of young and upcoming talent that's been recognised and we were stoked to see so many of our favourite Radar artists up there.

A super special congrats to Megan Washington, SIA, Angus and Julia Stone and Birds of Tokyo who all were nominated for a massive six ARIAS each.

They gave away a couple of ARIAs as a teaser - Angus and Julia Stone took out Album Art of the Year as well as Producer of the Year. Wayne Connolly, the caring hands behind Paul Dempsey's great debut solo album, took out Engineer of the Year, while Kris Moyes (aka general awesome creative legend behind stacks of film clips - think Presets' 'My People') took out Music Video of the Year for SIA's 'Clap Your Hands'.

This year the event will be spread out over five days and this will also be the very first time in the award's history that the general public can vote. We'll keep you posted on how to do this.

PS - not a single person pronounced Kylie Minogue's album Aphrodite correctly. It's Aff-Row-Die-Tee guys. Might want to get that sorted before the actual awards.

Check out our gallery of the event here
