Two Door Cinema Club
Alongside bands like Friendly Fires and Delphic, Ireland's Two Door Cinema Club represent a new hybrid generation of music-making kids raised on equal parts of rock and electronic music. Needless to say, the band (who got their name after one member mispronounced the local Tudor Cinema) effortlessly fuse both elements to provide the backdrop for singer Alex Trimble's wistful, boyish yearnings.
It's a bit Postal Service, a little The Rapture and quite a bit like Friendly Fires, but all pretty entertaining on the whole. In April, the lads released their debut album Tourist History which received solid reviews off the back of tracks like 'I Can Talk' and 'Undercover Martyn'. Now they're on the way to Australia for the Splendour in the Grass festival and a couple of shows on the side. Catch them out if you can.
