The Aston Shuffle
Canberra’s known for many things – politics, porn, fireworks, roundabouts etc. – but music’s not really been one of them. Dance duo Mikah Freeman and Vance Musgrove are determined to change that, even if they have to do it one track at a time.
The producer pair started making a name for themselves back in 2006-2007 off the back of some tidy remixes for Pnau, N.A.S.A, Claude Von Stroke and Dizzee Rascal. They’ve followed that up with a string of huge house choons in their own name including ‘For Everyone’, ‘Stomp Your Shoes’, and ‘Do You Want More.
Pre-empted by two new tracks ‘I Wanna See You’ and ‘Your Love’, the boys will release their debut LP Seventeen Past Midnight on April 15 through Downright Music/Ministry of Sound. They’re also working on a new live show to do it justice.
If that wasn’t enough, the lads recently topped the coveted Inthemix50 poll, earning the title of the best DJ act in the country. Not bad for some guys from Canberra!
