Martin Solvieg

Like fellow French man Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig makes bubbly dance-pop that’s as irritating as it is infectious. As in, you’ll find yourself singing his tune but hate yourself once you realise.

It’s a unique talent that’s celebrated round the world. Not only did Solveig (his real name is actually Martin Picande) score #55 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs of 2010, the 34-year-old Parisian has also been awarded with the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Order of the Arts) medal for his services to French music. Can you imagine the Bang Gang DJs scoring a medal here? Crazy!

To the hardcore, Solveig’s tracks like 'Hello' and 'Boys & Girls' might seem best suited to gyms and suburban nightclubs, but he does have his followers. Plenty of them. And that’s bound to increase when he drops his new album Smash some time this year.
