I, A Man
I, A Man is actually ‘we, some men’, aka Daniel Moss, Ash Hunter, Erik Rene and Sumner Fish from Melbourne. Named after Andy Warhol’s film from 1967, long time friends Daniel and Ash initially started the band as a duo before calling in reinforcements with Erik and Sumner to complete the sound.
They announced their intent with their 2011 four-track EP Fifteen Thirty Three, which explored melancholic, meandering indie-rock with skill and smarts. The tune ‘Big Ideas’ scored them decent airplay and sent them touring round the country for a few laps. Stoked with the results, the men didn’t waste any time, delivering a second EP You're Boring Us All in February 2012. The new songs boasted a new confidence and charisma, evidenced in the quiet intensity of single ‘The Scenic Route’.
